Frederick Niven letter to W. Orton Tewson [manuscript], 1925 July 3

Niven writes that he was interested in the "talk of single lines of poetry in the 'Salt Shaker' " and appreciates the request for his favorite. He recalls what Carl Sandburg said in the 'Bookman' when he made his selection, and then added, 'there were many other best poems.'" He lists his choice of seven titles, which he doesn't say are "greatests, or most beautiful or bests."
